HEALTH INSURANCE CONTACTS

Many foreign residents in Spain are opting for private health insurance especially as the Spanish National Health Service, although excellent, will not meet all of your needs.

It is difficult to say how much you will need to allocate as this will probably depend on your current health and the level of insurance you require.

Listed below are some useful contact details to help you get started:

BUPA - Tel: 01273 208181
www.bupa-intl.com

ExpaCare Insurance Services - Tel: 01344 381650
www.expacare.net

Goodhealth Worldwide Ltd - Tel: 0870 442 7376
www.goodhealthworldwide.com

Norwich Union - tel: 0800 068 1909
http://www.nuglobalcare.com

Hifac - Tel: 01273 403160
http://www.hifac.co.uk/

Alternatively, you could try a Spanish company, they offer an advantage in that payment for medical treatment is made in the form of vouchers. You can use them to pay for services at the time of treatment rather than pay upfront and have to claim the money back. However, do read the small print as, for example, services are often limited to specific hospitals. If this is a possibility, then contact:

Sanitas - Tel: +34 952 774450
